    Condolence Letter Writing To Employee

    To our employees:

It is with our deepest regret that we must inform you of the passing of one of our team members, Jonas Smith. Jonas has been a valued employee of Our Industries, Inc. for more than ten years.

He was highly regarded by our customers, fellow team members and Our Industries management as the lead quality control technician in the electronics assembly department. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and those of us who worked beside him every day.

A card has been placed at the administrative assistant’s desk for team members to sign. The card will be sent to his family tomorrow. A collection has been started to send a flower arrangement to the funeral home. These contributions are completely voluntary. You are also welcome to send flowers personally to the funeral home or to his widow.

The funeral has been set for 3PM on Saturday at Lovely Memories Memorial Home on Birch Street. If you wish to attend but are scheduled to work that day, please speak with your supervisor to arrange for someone else to cover your shift. Those who reported to him can contact Lisa Mondale for work shift schedules and to arrange time off.

A separate memorial scholarship fund in Jonas Smith’s name has been set up at the company credit union. All monies have been designated for a technical and vocational scholarship fund at the local community college. All donations to this scholarship fund are voluntary and are tax-deductible.

The company has already seeded this scholarship fund with $250. His wife would like to see the scholarship fund reach $1,000 to offer in her husband’s name by this fall to teach quality engineering to at least one incoming freshman.

    With deepest sympathy,
    (Name)
